    Description:

The route planned will take us through the rural areas behind Windsor & Richmond into Freeman's Reach, Glossodia, and East Kurrajong.

We will travel down Blaxland Ridge Road to the notorious Putty Road along which we will come to the Colo River and the Colo Riverside Cafe.

Local knowledge advises to not have much at the Marsden Park Maccas on account of the scrumptious menu at the cafe.

For those returning home in the East, it is suggested that you return directly to Windsor via the Putty Road or take a longer route by turning left off Putty Rd onto Packer Road and enjoying the scenery via Sackville, Ebenezer and Wilberforce.

    RSVP:

Registrations will close 1 August 2024

    History Note:

Many of you may recall and participated in, a run organised organised by the Austin Healy Club, in the winters months. This was known as the Brass Monkey Run. In recent years the Mazda MX5 Club has run this event, generally starting at 6.00am from Eastern Creek and ending up in Bathurst for breakfast.

Whilst not venturing as far afield as Bathurst, this run should justify why there is a heater in your car as we travel through the low-lying mists around the famous Hawkesbury and Colo Rivers, to finally be greeted with a lovely warm coffee and a satisfying breakfast.

Let’s see how many brave souls are up for the Morgan Brass Monkey Run. We certainly look forward to a good roll-up.

HFS Morgan, the founder of the Morgan Motor Company, was born on 11 August 1881.

To celebrate his birthday, we will hold a HFS Drive day for all members on 11 August this year.  Using the words of Dorothea Mackellar, it will be “across a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains, of ragged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains”.

Whilst similar celebrations are held by other marques in recognition of their founders, we believe this will be a first for the Morgan fraternity worldwide.

      • Dust off your Morgans and take them for a spin on the inaugural Australian run.
      • Take a short run or longer one
      • Gather some friends and go for a group run which would be terrific as well.

All we ask is that you take a photo of your car or group of cars while you out and about. Send it to the Editor of the Morgan Ear, Brian Tomalin, with a paragraph or two describing your run. If other people are in the photo, please add their names L to R in your short description.

      The email address is editor@morganownersclub.org.au

Please name your photo file in the following way:

member name - morgan year model - locality of photo - state

Prizes of $100, $50, 2 x $25 Dan Murphy gift cards will be made at the discretion of the editor. (Correspondence will NOT be entered into).

Entrants must be a member of MOCA.

Entries will close 5.00PM, Friday, 29th August 2025

We hope this idea will catch-on with our international Morgan colleagues and become a worldwide event.

The event is included in the Calendar of Events in the Morgan Ear and here in the web events, to allow members on Conditional or Concessional Registration to participate. Your registration is encouraged.

The much-anticipated Luncheon & Annual Awards Presentation will be held this year at the Hunters Hills Club.

            Date: Saturday, 8th November 2025

Destination: Hunters Hill Club, 12-20 Madeline St, HUNTERS HILL NSW

Time: Pre-luncheon drinks from 12:00 noon with a sit-down dinner served at 1:00PM.

Cost: $90/head (same price for members & guests). Three course alternate drop dinner.

Over the last few years, the cost of events has escalated considerably with venues including room hire as part of their charge, along with increases in catering costs driven by ever inflating food and labour rates. In order to keep the price of the event to a reasonable level we have decided the ticket price will not include refreshments. This will be on a Pay-As-You-Go basis, which leaves this component of the evening, entirely at the discretion of those attending. Of course, Social Members of the Hunters Hill Club should receive the members bar price discount on presentation of their membership card.

The luncheon will follow the same format as in the past with awards presented during and after the meal.

Bookings are to be on-line through your membership login and will allow you to include guests, remembering to add them when you first register.

            Bookings Close: 18th October 2025

Payment can be made by PayPal (which is the preferred method), Credit Card, EFT or Cheque payments are also available if you are not able to make payment via PayPal. Full details are included in the invoice.

When booking through the on-line system you should receive a receipt if you have paid by PayPal, or an invoice if you are paying by other means. Remember you are not registered until the payment is processed.

MOCA has received the following message from the Morgan Sports Car Club (UK):

“I know it seems a long way off, (by calendar & geographically), but time flies, (so do planes)! More details to come soon, but at this stage put it in the diary.

It might be problematic/expensive to bring your own car, but there are plenty to be hired over here so no reason to be Mogless.

Best wishes to all and hope to see some of you at Mog Fest”.

We have provided this event for those MOCA members who may be interested in attending, to register that interest as a way of informing other likeminded MOCA members, and thus facilitate making contact and coordinating travel plans.

The detail here will be updated as information comes to hand, however any organization of a group to attend the event, will be left up to those who are interested to work amongst yourselves.

If those interested need to update the detail here. please contact Club Captain - NSW via      clubcaptain@morganownersclub.org.au
